Self-Care is Not Being Selfless

How do you incorporate self-care into your life? Our business and life coach offers a new perspective on four areas of self-care practice that can provide you with contentment and calmness in your life.

Often we think of self-care as a physical act of massages, manicures, pedicures, and such, but self-care is more than just that physical luxury spa day that you take advantage of once a month. It’s the inside work of self-care.

Learning to develop a regular practice of caring for your body, your mind, and your spirit is how you can fill your cup first.

Think of the critical ingredients to self-care as movement, meditation, and mindset practice.

Connecting your body with your thoughts can allow you to find answers and reset your programming, so you’re not stuck in a loop and fall into the rabbit hole of not being enough.

Taking the time to take care of yourself through journaling, meditation, yoga, or other movements, you will find that the other self-care practices (spa treatments) are just icing on the cake.

Begin your practice by knowing your intuition will lead and guide you on what’s best for you.

Make choices without feeling guilt or shame. Focus on those areas that raise your vibration and bring you more joy.

Self-care is how you nurture and heal your physical body, thoughts, and emotions from your day-to-day experiences.

The top four areas I encourage my clients to focus on include:

  • Improve your mood
  • Ability to cope with change
  • Confidence in your decisions and actions
  • Practice often an attitude of gratitude

Seeking a practice around these areas will bring you closer to the mind, body, and spirit connection.
