You don’t need to get up earlier.

You don’t need to work harder.

You don’t need to do more.

You just need to follow through on the commitments you’ve made to yourself.

Simple and not always easy, but every time it’s the path to building self-respect, pride, dignity, confidence…and dare I say, actually loving yourself.

Some ways to get started are to:

Cut out negative people in your life—impacting your self-esteem and self-confidence. Find your tribe of positive people. They are out there.

Practice self-love. If things have yet to go your way, make necessary changes that will positively impact your life. Start by looking in the mirror and saying, “I love you; I really love you!” It may seem strange at first, and you may even have some resistents, but I promise if you keep doing it, you will discover a newfound love — YOU!

Practice self-talk. Listen to what you say. Negative words like should, could, and would sabotage your energy. Using conscious language can be a real game changer when you focus on what you DO want and less on what you don’t. Replace the words above with “choose” and see how your energy aligns better with what you want.

Self-love sometimes takes work. All the distractions and taking care of others can deplete you more than you realize. So begin today thinking of ways to reengage with yourself, find your way back to love, and see how much you feel better.

Keep shining.
