The Road Trip Market

Shop a curated collection of small businesses at this open-air vendor market.

Erica Sanders is a maker, doer, and creative at heart. After years making and selling her own products at markets throughout the Tri-State, she’s taken on a new venture: The Road Trip Market.

“The Road Trip Market is a carefully curated boutique, vintage, and handmade market featuring local vendors from all over the Tri-State area,” she says.

The open-air market is held twice a year at the Boone County Fairgrounds, once in the spring and once in the fall.

Sanders says the inspiration for starting The Road Trip Market came from the small business owners she’s met over the years as a business owner herself. “There is so much talent and ingenuity just in our area, and just as many people who want to support local, small businesses but don’t know how or where to go to do so.”

With that in mind, Sanders knew that if she could start a community-wide event that allowed residents in Northern Kentucky to shop high-quality products from local makers, vendors, and small businesses, that she could fill a need for those shoppers.

When you shop at The Road Trip Market, you’ll find that it’s more of an experience before anything else. “Imagine you’re going on an epic weekend shopping road trip with your best girlfriends,” says Sanders. “You have tons of places you want to shop at, but you have to drive from place to place. At The Road Trip Market, we take the driving out of the equation and we’ve brought all of the best vendors to one location.”

At each event hosted by The Road Trip Market, you’ll find a variety of local small businesses with quality products. “We have a great combination of small and large boutiques that offer everything from clothing to home decor to children’s apparel,” says Sanders. “We have potters, antique and vintage vendors, upcycle artists, all types of beautiful jewelry, candles and body care, fiber artists, pet products, unique woodworking, a lineup of the best local food trucks, and so much more.”

When curating the vendors for The Road Trip Market, Sanders says that it’s all about offering a selection of vendors that leave you saying “I can’t wait to come back.”

The next Road Trip Market is May 21-22 at the Boone County Fairgrounds, located at 5819 Idlewild Road in Burlington, Kentucky.
