Kelly Emilianowicz and her husband Andy want to give camping a glamorous spin. In May 2018, the couple launched The Pop-Up BnB, a mobile glamping tent rental and events company based in the Midwest and New England.
“We plan, execute, style and provide fully furnished glamping tents for events, weddings, retreats and getaways,” says Emilianowicz.
The Emilianowiczs live full-time in an RV and have spent their time driving through and traveling the country. This inspired them to bring a camping experience to those who can’t travel the country whenever inspiration strikes.
“We ultimately just wanted to be able to host guests in really beautiful locations that we have found on our travels,” she says. “Spending the last five years living full-time out of campgrounds across the country, we really wanted to provide people with an easy way for them to get out and enjoy camping without having to mess with the gear or stressful campsite hunt.”
With years of researching campgrounds and sites under their belt, the Emilianowiczs are able to provide guests with only the best locations.
When they first started The Pop-Up BnB, the duo provided tent rentals in Montana, Oregon and Southern California before heading back to Ohio and the Midwest by way of Texas.
“We really enjoy showing off the beautiful hidden gems of the Midwest like Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee, as well as outdoor paradises found on the East Coast,” she says. “We are nomadic beings, so no location is off limits for us, we will travel virtually anywhere.”
This summer, the Pop-Up BnB will be setting up shop in locations like Mansfield and Hocking Hills in Ohio, Lexington and Louisville in Kentucky, and Woodstock, New Hampshire.
Being a 100% mobile business also helps them stand out among other glamping experiences offered in the area. “You can stay at a different location with us every week of the year,” she says.
Since they popped their first tent, the Emilianowiczs have gone from one glamping tent to a fleet of more than 30.
“When we first launched, we had one glamping tent that would travel around with us and we mainly used it for hosting friends and family that would come and meet up with us on our travels,” says Emilianowicz. “We are now able to provide overnight accommodations for large groups and events, which was always a goal of ours when we first started.”
