If you’re looking for a new fitness experience, look no further than Studio 43. The fitness boutique is located in Alexandria, Kentucky, and is owned by Nikki Taylor.
Taylor says the inspiration for the studio came from her father, who passed away from cancer 13 years ago. “His lucky numbers 43, and it held a lot of significance in his life, so we named the studio to help carry on his legacy,” she says. “He was a local football coach, he taught masonry at the local vocational school briefly, and was very involved in the community in other various ways. He never met a stranger.”
Studio 43 opened its doors on March 31, nearly 6 years ago. “That was the day he died,” adds Taylor. “I wanted something to celebrate on that day instead of always thinking of it as my dad’s death day.”
In the years since she opened Studio 43, Taylor says she’s found gratitude for that day as it served as the beginning of something special for the community.
Studio 43 is the only fitness studio in Northern Kentucky that offers hot yoga, barre, mat pilates, and pilates reformer. “I’m proud to say that we have been voted Best of NKY for the last 4 years,” she adds.
Taylor says she’s proud of the welcoming atmosphere at Studio 43. “If we have a community member struggling for any reason, we all rally around to help,” she says. “We are like a big family, and that’s hard to find these days.”
