Posy Cut Flowers

Brighten your day with a bouquet from this small-scale, local flower farm.

Flowers are a girls best friend, and Posy Cut Flowers is a small-scale, local flower farm offering subscription bouquet services as well as single arrangements and a pop-up flower stand on weekends.

All of the flowers from Posy Cut Flowers are grown from seed on a small farm on Round Bottom Road. Owned by Tarah Holman and her husband, Posy Cut Flowers was born at the intersection of COVID and a mid-life crisis. “When the news of the outbreak happened and everything was so scary and uncertain, I needed a purpose,” says Holman. “I decided that I would grow and deliver flowers to my friends as a well to stay connected. Simultaneously, I had been experiencing burnout in my professional life for quite some time. One day, it just clicked. I decided delivery joy via beautiful flowers could be my next venture.”

Subscriptions from Posy Cut Flowers include spring, summer, and fall options, with each season lasting 6 weeks. Bouquets are delivered to the front door, in a bucket of water, on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. Holman says that she currently delivers to neighborhoods that are near her home but anticipates expanding her radius as the demand for subscription increases.

Holman says that when it comes to Posy Cut Flowers, she ensures to not only deliver beautiful bouquets to customers but to also educate them along the way. “Subscribers are given a ‘field guide’ of their flowers with each delivery so that they can learn to identify all of the unique flowers in their bouquets,” she says.

Additionally, Posy Cut Flowers really focuses on its variety of color palettes in flowers as well as a variety of selection so that they can create unique and one-of-a-kind combinations for customers.

As Holman looks for ways to grow her business, she says that she plans to start working with dried flowers. She wants to show customers how great dried flowers actually are and how beautiful they can be. She plans to offer everlasting wreaths and wearables (think hair accessories!) in the near future.
