Chic Spotlight: Ivy

Creatives and non-creatives alike are invited to explore this newly-opened space full of flowers and a variety of products from local artisans and curators.

The Chic Guide: What is Ivy?
Liz Akbay, Founder of Ivy: Ivy is a full service florist specializing in unique florals for everyday deliveries as well as intimate parties. We also host 20 local artisans and curators – their offerings include anything from vintage clothing to handmade ceramics!

The Chic Guide: What’s the inspiration behind it?
Akbay: I wanted to have a welcoming space where creatives (and even non-creatives) can gather to share ideas and space.

The Chic Guide: Who’s behind it?
Akbay: My name is Liz Akbay and I have 6 years of experience in floral design, and before that I had a silly corporate job for 8 years.

The Chic Guide: When did you open?
Akbay: We were established Jan 1, 2020, but couldn’t open our doors officially until June 2020 because of you know what.

The Chic Guide: What do you carry in-store?
Akbay: We have so many cool offerings! Local handmade gifts, vintage, plants, florals, and so much more!

The Chic Guide: What makes IVY unique?
Akbay: You have to come and see us to get the full experience, but our local vendors are what really make us special.

The Chic Guide: Is there anything new on the horizon?
Akbay: We are rolling out our workshop program, with more offerings than we’ve ever had (including flower arranging, painting, macrame, and so much more). We’ll keep class sizes small, and offer private parties as well.

The Chic Guide: Where are you located?
Akbay: We are located in Lamplighter Square (the little shopping plaza to the left of Meadowlark restaurant). Our address is 5571 Far Hills Ave.

The Chic Guide: Where can readers go to learn more and follow along?
Akbay: Readers can follow us on Instagram, or check out our website: ivydayton.com
