Chic Spotlight: Fios Gourmet Pops

Don't let winter stop you from enjoying one of these gourmet popsicles.

The Chic Guide: Tell us more about Frios Gourmet Pops!
Armando and Augustina DeLeon, Franchisees of Frios Gourmet Pops Dayton: Frios Gourmet Pops are popsicles with various flavors, fruit and ice cream bars on a popsicle stick! With 23 flavors and seaonal flavors, including cookies and cream, cotton candy, birthday cake, strawberry, strawberry mango, fruit punch, and blue raspberry. All gourmet, all delicious, you’ll find dairy-free, gluten-free, and nut-free options, something for everyone!

The Chic Guide: Why did you decide to become a Frios Gourmet Pops franchisee?
DeLeon: My first bite of a Frios solidified my desire to be a part of the brand as a franchise owner. We couldn’t wait for the Dayton community to try our Frios pops for themselves and share that magic with them. We introduced gourmet popsicles and the “Sweet Ride” van to the Miami Valley. In a family-operated, locally-owned small business, the entire family is part of the Dayton Frios team.

The Chic Guide: Who’s behind the business?
DeLeon: Armanda is a retired United States Air Force Officer. I previously worked in broadcast media and event marketing. I also have 10 years of small business owner experience, making owning a Frios franchise a smooth transition.

The Chic Guide: What’s on the menu?
DeLeon: We have strawberry, strawberry mango, pineapple mango, root beer float, blue raspberry, pink lemonade, blackberry ginger lemonade, key lime pie, blueberry cheesecake, caramel cheesecake, cookies and cream, butter pecan, chocolate, banana pudding, birthday cake, caramel sea salt, cotton candy, fruit punch, fruity pebbles, and we carry Pup Pops for doggies with a rawhide stick.

The Chic Guide: How far to you travel throughout the Miami Valley? How can readers go about bringing the truck to them?
DeLeon: We love rolling in our tie-dyed “Sweet Ride” dessert van bringing gourmet popsicles to festivals, corporate events, and parties. You can find the “Sweet Ride” van throughout Dayton and surrounding areas. We’re also licensed to wholesale.

The Chic Guide: What makes Frios unique?
DeLeon: Frios Gourmet Pops are offered in so many different flavors. The Frios “Sweet Ride” van has a sound system and LED lights – it can hold upwards of 2,000 popsicles so no party is too big. Our ice cream pops are made with wholesome ingredients. Many include toppings on the inside, including graham crackers and cookies. Our refreshing fruity pops are made with natural fruit, organic cane sugar, and no artificial coloring or flavoring.

The Chic Guide: Is there anything new on the horizon?
DeLeon: We’ll be attending lots and lots of festivals, food truck rallies, and sports tournaments in the new year. You can email us at [email protected] or book your event or [email protected] to partner with Frios. Please be sure to look for Frios Gourmet Pops’ partnerships with small businesses.

The Chic Guide: Where can readers go to learn more and follow along?
DeLeon: Follow us on and our schedule on Facebook, Instagram, and the Southwest Food Truck Finders.
