The Chic Guide: What products do you offer in your store?
Lue: We offer chic apparel for the out-going, well-traveled, and professional woman. Divine Designs by Dee carries professional and casual women’s clothing. We specialize in trendy blouses, tops, and dresses. The boutique has a variety of apparel color options and styles.
The Chic Guide: What’s the inspiration behind Divine Designs by Dee?
Lue: In 2018, a long-time mentor, sister-in-Christ, and an educator, Mrs. Ruby Holt, invited me to her home where she had her own personal “in-house” boutique. To my surprise, she wanted to bless me with a new beginning. When God has a blessing “with your name on it, what’s for you, is for you.” It wasn’t until the later part of 2019 that God gave me the name for my boutique, and I purchased new inventory. Divine Designs by Dee was a vision inspired by Mrs. Ruby Holt.
The Chic Guide: Can you share more about who you are and your journey?
Lue: My name is Dee Dee Lue and I am the owner of Divine Designs by Dee. As a young, single mother earlier in life, I always had a desire to help inspire and empower women in becoming the best version of themselves. I knew Divine Designs by Dee would be a catalyst to build women’s confidence and success in a holistic approach. Divine Designs by Dee was officially “birthed” in 2021. I truly believe in divine timing and the process that launches destiny.
I am fueled by developing a deeper and personal relationship with God. Understanding God’s divine purpose for my life and fulfilling that plan is a driving force. I’m excited about teaching others (children and women) because it’s a way to positively impact generations. God has changed my life by growing me into a stronger woman who looks beyond my own accomplishments. I believe my purpose is to strive towards helping others maximize their fullest potential. I hope my life reflects the power fo what God can do in helping others meet their personal goals if they pair faith with work.
I am a believer who is actively involved in my church community. I serve as a Sunday School Superintendent for the youth department and enjoy working with the women’s ministry at my church. I am a wife who’s been married for 16 years and loves traveling in my leisure time. I am a mother of a 22-year-old son who graduated from the University of Cincinnati this year. I have taught as a second-grade teacher since 2004 and took a leap of faith to begin working on my business in 2020. Love In Action provides food for the local community and assistance with laundry supplies. I look forward to partnering with an organization called MomsHope and Voice of Victory in early fall.

Lue: Divine Designs by Dee is intentional and purposeful in providing a service that’s welcoming and kind. We strive to create an environment for diverse and adventurous customers to feel appreciated and empowered.

Lue: Divine Designs by Dee’s storefront is located within my church, Emmanuel Temple Apostolic Church Lighthouse Ministries. We are located at 1585 Compton Road in Cincinnati. Our website allows for shopping for customers are aren’t in the local area or who prefer to shop online.
