Palm Oasis Boutique sells clothing, wax melts, and more
Brittney Davis started making candles and wax melts for herself, friends and family years ago when she realized it would be more cost-effective to make the products herself. Fast-forward to 2022, and Davis is running an online storefront—Palm Oasis Boutique—where she sells candles, clothing, accessories and more.
Davis runs Palm Oasis by herself out of a room in her house in Hebron, Kentucky. Since her husband is in the military, she can pack up her business and take it wherever they move. In the future, once her husband retires, Davis says she’d like to own a physical storefront where she can operate her business from. For now, though, she’s happy curating collections and products she knows her customers will love.
Some of Palm Oasis’ more popular products include jewelry, car fresheners, room sprays, wax melts, candles and clothing—which can range from dresses to leggings. Davis doesn’t make the clothing and jewelry herself. However, she makes it a priority to source the products from wholesale retailers in the United States.
“I pick stuff that I would like to wear, most of the time,” Davis says. “Sometimes I’m like, ‘OK, I see a lot of people like this right now,’ and I just go with that. I’ll talk to friends and neighbors and see what they like, but a lot of it is based on what I would like to wear.”
For 2022, Davis wants to incorporate newer products into her store that she thinks will be popular throughout the year.
Wax Melts
Ride out the colder months with scents that warm you up and remind you of sunnier days. “Citron and mandarin have always been a No. 1 seller. Sea salt and orchid—that’s the No. 1 seller. Right now, in the winter, people focus more on the Christmas tree scent or the fireside and flannel,” Davis says. “Coffee, sea salt, orchid, citron and mandarin are definitely the top [scents].”
Dresses
As the warmer months slowly creep in, it’s time to add florals and bright patterns to your wardrobe with fun, flirty dresses. “I definitely want to have a huge variety of dresses,” Davis says. “So, for spring and summer, I definitely want to get a lot more.”
Loungewear
These past few years have been exhausting and stressful, which is the exact reason why you should have a dedicated pair of loungewear that can keep you cozy through the toughest of days. “Lounge sets are my No. 1 seller,” Davis says. “So, I’m definitely looking at bringing in a lot more loungewear, as well.”
