When Morgan Angelique Owens started her first business (Curvy Cardio) 7 years ago, she was trying to find a way to invest in her health. What happened next was more than she had ever imagined: Morgan created a way to support other minority women who had trouble with their physical wellness journey. Everything that Morgan does, whether its business workshops, blogging or influencer work, incorporates the message of self-care and how important it is to help women grow successfully in their life and career.
“I am most proud of finding myself-love and confidence along my career journey,” says Owens. “I’ve been able to tell my story and be my authentic self, leading to make a living out of it. Being able to help others step into their ‘sparkle’ has been one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done.”
Morgan’s focus on self-care has afforded her the chance to strike a balance between external socialization and internal reflection.
“I excel in the areas of social and spiritual wellness,” she says. “As I have gotten older, keeping my social and spiritual wellness intact is a top priority. I’m very discerning about my space and energies I let into my space.”
Where does the founder of Cincinnati Herald Beauty see opportunity along her wellness journey?
“I could for sure improve my financial wellness,” she says. “I’ve never been a ‘numbers girl’ – the ‘unsexy side’ of business has always been the financial aspect.”
You can often see Morgan dipping in ad out of their airport as she continues to grow her brand at a rapid rate. Ms. Owens’ best advice for fellow female entrepreneurs: “You have to protect your mind, body, and spirit at all times,” she says. “You can’t focus on what’s ahead of you if you are pouring from an empty cup. New heights require a clear mind, if you’re not taking time out for yourself, those heights won’t be in your sights.”
