Tack Shack Boutique

A momma on a mission launched a size-inclusive boutique that caters to women of all shapes and sizes.

Amy Tackett wanted to give shoppers in the Dayton area a place to go that catered to women of all shapes and sizes. That’s why she founded Springboro-based Tack Shack Boutique.

“We are a size-inclusive women’s boutique specializing in Appalachian, bohemian styles and always keep our inventory limited and fresh for our regular customer,” says Tackett.

The inspiration behind Tack Shack Boutique came around when Tackett was pregnant with her daughter, Willow. “I deeply desired to be a stay-at-home mom,” she said. “I knew this wasn’t a financial option for our family, though, so I started looking into business opportunities that would allow me to work from home.”

From there, Tackett says things fell into place and the right people and resources started to show up in her life. “I had a passion for the project for many reasons, and knew it would be a great fit,” she says. From there, she grew her online boutique before eventually opening a brick-and-mortar location.

launching her boutique, she wanted to share her love for fashion with customers. “I love oversized, unique style that pay homage to my heritage and make me feel confident in my ever-changing skin,” she says. “When I created my brand, I saw a unique opportunity to bring this vision to life.”

Tack Shack Boutique offers women’s clothing in sizes small through 3X, and the store is designed to serve both straight- and curvy-sized women equally.

Tackett also prides herself of offering a shopping space for mommas who have their littles in tow. “We have a gated-in play area where my daughter hangs out while I’m working, and our customers lie seeing the ’boutique baby,'” she says. “We even have a few friends who bring their littles for Tack Shack playdates. It’s a pretty awesome concept for young mommas who need a little retail therapy but also need to bring their kids.”

Tackett is currently pregnant with her second child, and is excited for customers to walk through the journey with her.

Tack Shack Boutique is located at 274 W Central Avenue in Springboro. If you don’t have time to make the trip to Springboro, you can see Tack Shack Boutique in action at the upcoming Beers + Cheers Holiday Market by The Beauty Boost Dayton.
