Welcome warmer weather with a new sparkling beverage by local craft beer brewery MadTree Brewing.

MadTree Brewing is expanding its craft beer horizons and launching a new sparkling vodka soda made with local spirits and natural flavors. The new canned cocktail line, called Sway, comes in two different flavors: strawberry and guava and grapefruit and ginger.

The drinks, which are available in stores starting March 7, are part of the brand’s house-made cocktail program that was launched a few years ago in the Oakley taproom. The new OTR location for MadTree will feature an even larger cocktail program and Sway is the first cocktail available in distribution.

“We’ve seen how the market has grown in the seltzer and canned cocktail categories over the past few years and it’s very appealing and exciting. But, we also wanted to make a product in our own MadTree style,” Brady Duncan, co-owner of MadTree Brewing says. “This means doing our research, creating a quality product, listening to what consumers want, and building a phenomenal brand to tie it all together.”

When developing the drink, MadTree wanted to find a way to connect with its customers over more than just craft beer. Then, along came the idea for the sparkling vodka soda, using local spirits from Northside Distilling.

“As we were testing different vodkas, Northside’s kept performing very well in blind tastings and melded really, really nicely with the flavors too,” says Head Brewer Ryan Blevins. “Once Northside confirmed their ability to produce the vodka in the quantities we needed, it was a no-brainer to partner with them.”

The new partnership comes as a continued effort by MadTree to work with local businesses. The brewery also gives back to the community by donating 1% of all sales to non-profits.

The drinks have 90 calories, one carb, zero sugar, and are gluten-free. They come in 4-packs of 12oz slim cans. You can learn more about the new drinks, and MadTree, at https://www.madtreebrewing.com.
