“Sunday Afternoon Picnics is a luxury picnic service where we travel to your desired location within the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area and set up a custom tables cape, arrangement of food, place settings, and decor,” says Co-Founder Ellen.
Sunday Afternoon Picnics can help you celebrate a variety of events, from intimate date nights to bachelorette and birthday parties. “We customize decor and food selection based on the event,” adds Co-Founder Kathryn.
The trio of friends behind the business, Ellen, Kathryn, and Taylor, wanted to give those living in the Tri-State a service that will take the planning, preparation, and stress out of a picnic while delivering an experience that is effortless, fun, and luxurious.
“Outdoor picnics are one of the activities that people can feel safe and confident participating in during the pandemic, and by using a service like ours, all you have to do is tell us what you’d like and we’ll make it happen,” says Taylor. “It’s something that people can get excited for and just come and enjoy – all of the work is taken care of.”
At Sunday Afternoon Picnics, they’re dedicated to providing clients with an enjoyable outdoor picnic. That’s why when you picnic with them, all you have to worry about is showing up – the rest is taken care of.
“We include everything necessary for a gorgeous and comfortable picnic experience,” says Ellen. “Our setup includes custom, handmade tables and plastic-free place settings including linen napkins, glassware, real silverware and cheese utensils, placemats, and glass plates. We provide all decor including pillows, floor cushions, blankets, candles, lanterns, and florals.”
Picnics from Sunday Afternoon Picnics also come with a choice of food board – cheese and charcuterie, brunch (waffles, yogurt, fruit), or desserts. Also provided is a bluetooth speaker, game basket, and hand sanitizer.
“We fully setup everything before your arrival and clean up everything once you’re done,” adds Taylor.
Kathryn says that what makes Sunday Afternoon Picnics stand out is that they’re committed to providing a unique and customizable experience for everyone.
“We have multiple color options for decor, three choices off food, and we provide a custom chalkboard sign with a message of our clients’ choosing,” she says. “We work around dietary restrictions and can provide vegan and gluten free options and accommodate for allergies.”
Additionally, Sunday Afternoon Picnics is firm in its belief of supporting local, so cheese boards come from Urban Stead and customized desserts come from She Bakes. They have also hosted picnics that included custom floral arrangements, custom cakes, and gift bags for those who attended. The trio encourages you to place custom food, decor, and drink requests, as they can accommodate any food restrictions so that you can enjoy a picnic that is uniquely fitted to your preferences.
Sunday Afternoon Picnics can setup in parks and backyards within the Greater Cincinnati region, and they will travel up to 20 miles from Cincinnati. Currently, some of the most popular picnic locations are Ault Park, Alms Park, Smale Park, and Devou Park.
The girls behind Sunday Afternoon Picnics say they will soon launch a new website and booking system. And they’re looking forward to upcoming collaborations with other local businesses to bring an even greater variety of options for picnics.
