Stillwater Valley Orchard

A couple with an appreciation for history, agriculture, food, and culture opened their own family-run farm to share unique products customers will love.

The Armentrouts are big fans of agriculture, food, history, and culture. When they purchased a wooded lot, they decided that there was no time better than the present to create a space where they could combine all the things they love and share it with others.

Now, they are the owners of Stillwater Valley Orchard, a small family farm specializing in gourmet garlic seasonings, 50+ varies of heirloom apples, apple cider vinegar, herbal teas, salves and tinctures, local honey, and beeswax products.

Chad Armentrout, who runs Stillwater Valley Orchard alongside his wife Natalie, says that they’re able to bring their love for food, history, culture, and agriculture to create products that customers can use in their everyday lives and that also taste great. “Natalie and myself cultivate the farm, harvest, prepare, craft, market, and sell all of our products,” he adds.

Finding a small family farm that focuses on all the things the Armentrouts love is unique in the Dayton area. Their land allows them to grow and promote a wide variety of historical plants and apples. “We like to make great tasting products with our farm products, and are sure to tell our customers all the history, culture, and interesting tidbits about the products they purchase from us,” he says. “The whole package connects both us and the customer to the past and present, and builds an excitement in all the creative possibilities. Our tagline, ‘A Taste of History,’ is always a part of our spirit we like to pass on to our great customers.”
