Tori Reynolds wanted to provide those in Dayton with a space where they could create happier, healthier, and more fulfilled lives, so she opened Speakeasy Yoga, an educational yoga, meditation, and movement studio.

“Speakeasy was designed to bring the community together and help support each other in the endeavor to create happier and healthier lives,” she says. “Each one of us can benefit from feeling calmer and healthier, and we are inspired to help people get to that place.”

Reynolds says Speakeasy Yoga is comprised of a team of teachers, work trade team members, and clientele who make the space what is it.

Currently, the studio offers daily drop-in classes as well as a number of educational workshops. Clients of the studio can choose from yoga classes such as hot, power, basics, beginners, gentle, and restorative yoga, meditation, and barre.

With its mission of creating a space where others can go to better their lives, Reynolds says that it also prides itself on its belief in acceptance and inclusivity. “We strive to make sure all who walk through the door know that they are welcome and safe in the space,” she says. “Inside the studio room we work with a pretty consistent feel and delivery from class to class, so even though the teacher has their own flare and spin on what they are offering, it can feel familiar, comforting, and easy to comprehend, which helps the nervous system be more at ease.”

Additionally, Speakeasy Yoga instructors are direct and supportive, so that they can help your body become its best. And the team ensures that its offering high-quality classes and education so that everyone can grow together.

Reynolds says the studio space at Speakeasy Yoga is warm and welcoming, and resembles walking into a cozy living room. “We create space not just to hold class but for people to relax before and after class, and occasionally we’ll even host social gatherings,” she says. “It fosters community connection.”

Reynolds says that Speakeasy Yoga will continue to find new ways to be better community supporters and easily accessible to others as it grows. “The nature o yoga and fitness studios tends to be pricey, and we want to create new ways to make yoga in-studio more accessible to all,” she adds.

Speakeasy Yoga is located in the Cannery Loft Apartments building at 510 E 3rd Street in downtown Dayton. You can learn more about the studio at http://speakeasydayton.com or by following along on Facebook and Instagram.
