Shantay Furrow is a board-certified aesthetician, registered nurse and certified nurse practitioner on a mission to help you fall in love with your skin through her aesthetic and skincare business Skin by Shantay.
Located in downtown Troy inside of Polished Nail Salon, Skin by Shantay offers custom facials, derma planing, chemical peels, and body treatments.
Furrow says she was inspired to launch her own aesthetic and skincare business after her own struggles with skincare concerns growing up.
“With my nursing background, I wanted to continue feeling as though I am making a difference and helping others feel their absolute best,” she says. “Feeling confident and comfortable in your own skin is so important.”
Not only does Furrow enjoy creating confidence and comfortability for her clients, she also enjoys receiving services like the ones she offers herself. “I also personally love the way my skin looks and feels after a dermaplane,” she adds.
When treating her clients, Furrow says that she believes in a holistic approach to skincare. This means that she focuses on all aspects of health to find the root cause of skin concerns, and she treats clients’ skin using only professional and pharmaceutical-grade skincare products that contain pure ingredients and botanicals.
Furrow is looking forward to continuing to build her business, and says she’s planning to add to the service list while also utilizing her nurse practitioner license for advanced treatments.
