Salon Lola

A local beauty industry expert is bringing an inclusive salon experience to the area.

When Jess Fisher opened up her salon, Salon Lola, she knew she wanted to create a space that was welcoming to all people with all types of hair. Today, she is proud to offer an inclusive space that caters to all – no matter what they may be looking for in a salon experience.

“A lot of salons do not have inclusive spaces,” says Fisher. “From people still offering ‘men’s and women’s’ haircuts to salons that turn people away for their hair texture. I did not want to create another space like that. I want people to feel welcomed no matter their hair texture, gender, or background.”

The inclusive space at Salon Lola allows its stylists to be creative while growing their craft and gaining business skills to help them achieve personal and professional goals – all while helping their clients look and feel good.

Fisher has been in the beauty industry since she was 17, so she brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to the community. “When I first came into the industry, I immediately saw a need for something different for clients and stylists,” she says. “I’m so happy that so many years later I’ve been able to create it.”

The services offered at Salon Lola depend upon the stylist. “We encourage our stylists to specialize,” says Fisher. “For example, I specialize in curly hair. We have other stylists who specialize in extensions, dimensional color, and blending.”

Ultimately, the goal at Salon Lola is to redefine the salon experience to be that of inclusivity, transparency, and luxury. Stylists have hourly rates and services are booked based on the amount of time needed for each service, and they’re gratuity-free. We work one-on-one with our guests and do not double book.

As we head into a new year, Salon Lola will continue to host monthly open studios for stylists and cosmetology students on various topics involving hair techniques and business building. “We are always growing and evolving and are always hiring driven, self-motivated stylists.”

Salon Lola is located at 2330 Grange Hall Road in Beavercreek. You can learn more on the website or by following along on Instagram.
