If you’re in need of a little positivity, look no further than Springfield-based Sage & Oak.
“Sage & Oak is a woman-owned small business that specializes in spreading positive messages in our products,” explains Owner Taylor Huggins. “Everything we create, we create by hand and with so much love.”
The inspiration behind Sage & Oak came about during the pandemic, when Huggins lost her job. “I have always been artistic with an eye for design, so we decided why not try to put those skills to use and try to earn a second income to help take care of our family at the same time,” she says. “I’d done it before with graphic design so why not try to branch out even further and go beyond all comfort zones?”
Huggins, who runs the business with help from her partner Joshua Freshour, says that you can find a variety of products from Sage & Oak including waterproof stickers, polymer clay earrings, reusable tote bags, decor, home goods, and more. “We like to stay busy and learn new skills, if you couldn’t tell,” she laughs.
The designs available at Sage & Oak are unlike anything you’ll find anywhere else, and only authorized resellers have permission to sell their unique products. “Not only are our stickers unique, but they are filled with positivity for you and those around you,” says Huggins. “When you put our stickers on your laptop or carry one of our tote bags to the store with you, you are spreading those messages to everyone around. When people read our products at markets, watching them smile fills us with joy. We love being a light in the world.”
Huggins and Freshour have been busy creating new products for the shop, with a focus on new polymer clay earrings. She says they’re still learning and finds joy in reflecting back on how much she’s grown in her clay journey over the last year. She is also expanding the sticker collection. “There’s always something new in the works over here, it’s what keeps it exciting,” she says.
You can find Sage & Oak in a small downtown Springfield shop, in the same space as Sip & Dipity Paint Bar. You can also find them on Saturday mornings at the Springfield Farmers Market.
