If you want to focus on sustainability and supporting local, Revival Haus in Troy is the place to go. Revival Haus is a vintage and plant shop that focuses on sustainable living and locally made goods.

Owner Niki Woodruff first opened Revival Haus as a hobby, because she was in search of a creative outlet that she felt was being dampened by her office job. “I really created an outlet where I could work with my hands, and I found furniture restoration to be very cathartic and rewarding,” she says. “What started as a one-person side hustle has blossomed into a full-tie business, and I now have an amazing team of ladies that keep Revival Haus growing year after year!”

When you visit Revival Haus, you’ll find, more than material objects, a sense of calm and ease. Woodruff says this is because the shop is filled with earthy tones, plans, and natural fibers and textures. The color palette, she adds, is meant to make you feel like you’re in a part of nature.

While browsing through what Revival Haus has to offer, you’ll find secondhand apparel and vintage home decor. Something that Woodruff is proud to offer, because the pieces in her shop at one-of-a-kind and she’s helping to keep items out of landfills by giving it a new life and a new home.

“We are also proud to work with local makers to find the coolest handmade goods that pair well with our aesthetic, and we offer a furniture refinishing service, which is a cool way to help others bring their treasured pieces back to life,” she adds.

Since opening Revival Haus 6 years ago, Woodruff says that the best part of owning her own business is the relationships she gets to build along the way. “I have met and cultivated incredible relations with customers, fellow business owners, local makers, non-profits in my community, and, of course, my amazing staff,” she says. “Surrounding yourself with creative and passionate people is truly the most fun and rewarding part of owning a business in a thriving downtown.”

Woodruff is currently in the process of opening a new coffee shop/plant shop in downtown Sidney, called Greenhaus Coffee. It’s something she’s been thinking about doing to help expand Revival Haus.

When asked why she decided to go with downtown Sidney, Woodruff says she wanted to go somewhere that had a need for a cafe that focuses on cleaner eating and also offered retail opportunities.

“We used our Revival Haus connections to partner with other businesses that we admire, so we will be sourcing our beans from Purebred Coffee and pastries from Val’s Home Kitchen,” she says. “So, needless to say, I am very excited to open that space sometime around mid-November.”

Revival Haus is located at 9 E Canal Street in Troy, Ohio. They currently share a space with Michelle’s Macarons, on the edge of downtown Troy.
