Queen City Revolt

A small hobby turned into a booming business for this local lady. Click to read more about her one-of-a-kind designs paying homage to the Queen City.

Lauren Wassler grew up in Cincinnati. It’s the place she still calls home and where she raises her family. Besides her love for Cincinnati, she’s also a creator who loves to design.

She is the founder of Queen City Revolt, a small, west-side based apparel company.

Wassler’s inspiration for launching Queen City Revolt came from her love for the town she grew up in and her appreciation for Midwestern culture.

“I grew up here in Cincinnati,” she says. “I love it so much that I am now raising my family here. I also love the Midwest’s culture – laid back, hardworking folks. Since 2011, my apparel has been inspired by those kind-hearted hustlers, and the beautiful landscapes that surround us in this region of the USA.”

Wassler is the one-woman show behind her business and works from her newly-finished home.

“I do all of the designing, shipping, running the website, and working the markets,” she says. “Sometimes I recruit my grandmother to help me fold shirts when I have a large order or restock due.”

When you shop Queen City Revolt you’ll find that she offers many types of apparel and accessories including hats, tees, jackets, bags, bracelets, sweatshirts, and youth apparel. She also does a lot of custom design work. Basically, Wassler says, if you can put a logo on it, she can make it.

Wassler says that what makes Queen City Revolt unique is that everything has her own personal touch to it and she only offers quality products. “If it’s an item either myself or my husband won’t wear, I won’t make it,” she says. “I appreciate that customers are spending their hard earned money on supporting my small business, so I only charge what I would be willing to pay myself. You will never find a $45 tee or a $60 hoodie carrying a QCR label, only good quality at fair prices.”

Currently, Wassler is preparing for upcoming summer and fall markets, and is finding time for new designs in her new studio.
