Get the littles and head out of the house for a playdate both grownup and baby can enjoy. Milk & Beans in Crescent Springs, Kentucky, is a playroom cafe made for those who want a break from their daily routine, work, or to have a conversation outside of their home.
“Milk & Beans has the convenience of an indoor playroom for preschoolers, where kids can have fun too,” says Natalia Quijano and Paola Monzon, the founders of Milk & Beans. “Pretend-playing allows littles to be engaged and build social skills without being overly stimulated, which promotes that the parents and caregivers relax.”
The inspiration for Milk & Beans came from the duo being parents themselves to littles under the age of 5. They found that they were going to places made specifically for children, and would have to chase them around without the chance to talk with each other, or they had to go to coffee shops where they didn’t feel quite so welcomed with children in tow.
“There are no other places for caregivers of young children to go and feel like they belong,” says Monzon. “We wanted to offer the community a place where they can get amazing coffee and don’t feel alienated for walking in with a small kid.”
A visit to Milk & Beans will allow grown-ups to sit and enjoy adult conversation, while the kids can play without worry thanks to a see-through fence. Additionally, Milk & Beans offers specialty coffee and yummy food, including signature drinks like the Honey-Cinna latter as well as house-made almond and oat milk.
If you’re thinking of a party for the little ones, Milk & Beans is also a good choice for just that. There is a semi-private party package that includes exclusive access to the party room for 2.5 hours while the facility is opened to the public. “We also have the option to rent the entire space for a private party,” says Quijano. “Both packages include coffee for your party, a happy birthday banner, tablecloths, balloons, tableware, and silverware.”
Other party packages at Milk & Beans include food and drinks for kids and adults, deluxe decorations, and party favors. “We want you to just show up and enjoy,” adds Monzon.
Quijano and Monzon say they are always looking forward to offering new items at Milk & Beans, such as food, drinks, and special events. “We have perfect a new special recipe for frappes, and we are going to start selling batches of our house-made granola,” they say.
