Melanie Angle was born and raised in Tipp City. This Miami Valley native is a wife, new mama, and a business owner. She is the founding force behind Melded Co, a permanent jewelry business.
“I love a good piece of jewelry that I don’t have to take off,” says Angle. “I have always loved investing fine jewelry because I knew that it was something that would last. I wanted something I could wear in the shower, workout in when I’m teaching barre, and have something that wouldn’t break when my son would play with it.”
That’s when she came up with the idea of a nonexistent business in Dayton – 14k permanent jewelry. “All of the chains are made of 14k solid gold and are fitted to your wrist, so there’s no tricky clasp to deal with,” she says. “Once we get you the perfect fit, the chain is welded together and your obsession with your permanent jewelry will begin.”
Angle hopes that through her business, she’s not only able to give them a piece of jewelry that they love, but to connect to people as well. “Being a new stay-at-home mom, starting this business has given me a fun way to meet others,” she adds. “I’m a lover of all things shiny and I love getting people together to have a good time – Melded has brought me both. I get to play with beautiful gold chains while spending time with incredible clients and friends.”
Currently, Melded Co offers 14k solid gold bracelets with four different gold chains to choose from: The Petite, The Tiny, The Delicate, and The Dainty. You can find Melded Co at pop-up events in the area, including at local businesses and boutiques as well as private parties.
Angle says that what makes Melded Co unique is that there isn’t anything else like it in the region. the chains are lightweight that you’ll forget they’re there, and they can be worn alone or paired with other jewelry. “Melded is also an experience,” says Angle. “You can come to a pop-up and have your jewelry welded on by yourself or you can book a private party with your girlfriends and make it a girls’ night. Not only do you get a beautiful and timeless piece of jewelry, you also get to make a sweet memory in the process.”
Although Melded Co is still a new business, Angle already has big plans. She says that she is currently working on offering necklaces and anklets. “We are also working with our supplier on offering white gold in addition to the yellow gold we currently offer,” she says.
