Know What’s Important and Ignore What’s Not

Melissa Kirkpatrick
Our business & life coach offers a clear path to knowing what's important and ignoring the rest, starting with you.

At the start of each day, how do you identify where you will receive the most joy and fulfillment? Like most, you don’t give it a second thought. You start your day and hope joy and fulfillment will come.

Where does it come from? It comes from within.

You know what you don’t want, but are you taking time to understand what you do want?

Get clear on what lights you up and has you longing for more, and replace what doesn’t feel good with something better.

When you find yourself “drowning in information but starving for wisdom,” give yourself permission to design what works for you. And your most significant success will come from being intuitive.

Consider the basics:

  • Begin every day feeling that you know what you want to work on.
  • Start your day by knowing what you want to get done.
  • Be consistent over the long term.

Here is some wisdom that may serve you as you set yourself up for what’s important.

Simple structures

  • Set a morning intention
  • Document the evidence
  • End the day with gratitude

Get support

  • Accountability partner
  • Join a group of likeminded people

Give to yourself

  • Look in the mirror and say, “Everything I need to know comes from within me.”
  • Buy yourself flowers

Remember within is where joy and fulfillment start. Trust in the process, and soon, you’ll discover what’s important and ignore the rest.

Keep shining!
