Instagram Apps for Content Creators – 2021 Edition

Use Instagram to boost your account's presence with these tips from social media marketing guru Ali Rittenhouse.

It seems like every time we turn around, there is a brand new app in the App Store that’s going to help you with your Instagram account.

I rounded up a few of my favorites that I’ve been using for years and are tested and true and are going to help you.

VSCO – First step is VSCO, which is a photo editing app that I’ve been using for several years. I just love using it because of the simple ease of editing photos with it and how many options it does have without overwhelming you.

You can pick the filters that you love and save them, and use them every single time that you take a photo. If you want that beautiful Instagram aesthetic, you can create it right within VSCO, save it and make editing, super simple.

Canva – Next up is Canva. Canva is so much more than just an Instagram app, but it’s going to make your stories and your feed look beautiful. They started out as a desktop option and now have an app as well. So it can really help you create and design branded content for your business, no matter what format you need it in, from an image to a PDF, to a presentation. And I love that you don’t have to be a designer in order to use it. I find myself not going to Photoshop or Adobe products anymore and going straight to Canva to make whatever I need. It’s so simple and easy. You can share your templates with your team so that everybody knows what they are creating is brand on for your business.

Adobe Spark – A similar tool to Canva is Adobe Spark. It allows for you to create beautifully customized images that match your brand. It also has the animation element, so does Canva. So there are really great tools for you that you can download to your smartphone and take just a couple of minutes to create that post without having to have any techie skills.

Life Lapse –

This next app, is one that I was intimidated by but was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to use it once I started. And it allows for you to create some really fun Instagram posts, whether you’re putting them on your story or on your feed. The options are endless of how you can use this app. Once I started to use it, I felt like the content ideas started to flow more in ways that I could continue to use it. Don’t be intimidated by it because it’s not like you have to post anything that you create.

And that’s one thing to keep in mind with anything that you create for social the media. Get your feet wet, start having fun at being creative. If you don’t like it, don’t post it and look at how can you do it better the next time. But really done is better than perfect to me.

Even if I’m looking a fool, I’m probably still going to post it and I think you should too.

We’re all human and nobody is picture perfect, nobody. So have fun, get creative and post it anyway. You just need to be able to download these apps and you can get started playing around and having a lot of fun.

Instagram Story Apps –

Now, if you’ve been diving into Instagram stories, which is a medium that I absolutely love to create content for because it’s quick, it’s simple, it’s easy.

And you know what? It disappears in 24 hours, if you don’t like it, or if you love what you created, you can post it in your highlights reel and keep it for later. A couple of great apps that you can download to make your story look good are::

  • Unfold
  • Story Art
  • Seen
  • Story Luxe

These tools are really great and easy to use just like all the other apps that I provided for you in the video below.
