You’ve heard of mobile wine bars, but have you heard of a mobile espresso bar? Based in the Miami County area is Dolce Doppio, a mobile espresso bar serving espresso-based drinks with locally roasted, ethically-sourced beans, homemade syrups, and high-quality ingredients.
“We can pop-up to vendors events, private events, and even to caffeinated your business meetings,” says Co-Fouder Caitlin Ball.
Ball, who runs the business alongside her business partner Laura Browner, says the inspiration for the business came from their wish to find a good cup of coffee when a coffee shop wasn’t near by.
“We created Dolce Doppio to bring great coffee to all of your important life events – graduation, weddings, baby showers, and everything in between,” says Ball.
The name of the business is Italian for “sweet double,” Ball says. Dolce means “sweet” and doppio means “double,” and doppio is also a double shot of espresso. So together, the duo thinks of themselves as a “sweet double.”
Ball and Browner both have extensive industry experience in the coffee world, and together decided to break away and do their own thing.
Ball says that any espresso drink you can order at a coffee shop, you can order from Dolce Doppio including americanos, cappuccinos, and iced lattes.
“We are proud to offer espresso from Purebred Coffee out of Troy, high-quality whole and oat milk, and homemade syrups to sweeten drinks when requested,” says Ball. “We are happy to accommodate dairy-free, caffeine-free, and sugar-free diets.”
Although Dolce Doppio charges a travel fee after so many miles outside of Troy, there is no limit to how far they will go. In fact, says Balls, traveling is one of the reasons they opened a mobile espresso bar.
When you book Dolce Doppio, you’ll be offered the full menu of coffee shop quality drinks, the ability to curate a specialty menu relating to your event, and exceptional service. Ball says the pride themselves on being friendly, easy-going, and hands-on.
What makes Dolce Doppio unique is that it’s a mobile espresso bar, so they can go anywhere you go. “Rather than renting a pot of coffee for your event, we can physically be there with a friendly face to help your guests decide what drink they’ll love,” says Ball.
As Dolce Doppio continues to pop-up at events around the area, they are currently working on renovating a 1968 Nomad trailer into a mobile coffee shop. Then, when that’s done, Dolce Doppio will pop-up in the trailer that will include a pour-over bar and locally-baked pastries.
