Richter & Phillips Jewelers is bringing the light back to 6th Street this holiday season. Christmas lights are a tradition just about everywhere, but in the Queen City, Christmastime is truly something magical.
To help bolster holiday spirits everywhere, 125-year-old Richter & Phillips installed a series of nostalgic holiday lights.
“It’s to no one’s surprise that a lot of people in our city have had a difficult few years,” says Rick Fehr, President of Richter & Phillips Jewelers. “Our Christmas lights are a simple gesture to try and bring back some of that brightness and happiness to those shopping with us or simply passing by our store.”
The lights at Richter & Phillips Jewelers at 6th & Main streets is light up 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. There are also evergreen wreaths on the sidewalks adorning classic red bows.
“At one time, 4th street was the center of Downtown,” explains Fehr, “but with three of Cincinnati’s best restaurants located right here, Richter & Phillips Jewelers on the corner, and the new Luxury Boutique Hotel by the Pendry Group under construction right across the street, 6th Street has certainly become one of the premier centers of the Central Business District. As a part of this community, we feel it’s important to play a part in giving back to the city, whether it’s through a charitable effort or contributing through a display of holiday cheer – it’s all in an effort to work together and help Cincinnati thrive and stay beautiful.”
Richter & Phillips Jewelers has a few established holiday traditions, including their annual charity event, Whiskey & Watches, which raised over $5,000 this December for The Dragonfly Foundation. The Richter & Phillips Jewelers Christmas Light Display aims to become a new tradition for families throughout the Tri-State, and it’s something that people of all ages will enjoy.
