The Chic Guide: Tell us more about Maison Covington!
Katy Bialczak, Owner of Maison Covington: Maison Covington is the newly opened gift shop located inside Left Bank Coffeehouse!
The Chic Guide: What’s the inspiration behind Maison Covington?
Bialczak: Any time I travel, I’ve always loved to shop at small, independent stores with unique items to find non-traditional souvenirs. The most shops like this I visited in other cities, the more I realized I would love to start one in Covington, which, before the pandemic and even during, has been growing and blossom gin into a real vibrant city.
The Chic Guide: Who’s behind the business?
Bialczak: Me! My parents are Left Bank Coffeehouse Owners Russ and Jackie Slone.
The Chic Guide: What can readers find when they shop Maison Covington?
Bialczak: We offer an array of new and vintage items “for you and your home.” We have home decor like vases and planets, throw blankets and pillows, and candles and candle holders. We carry personal accessories like keychains, necklaces, pins, soaps, and lotions. Also in Maison Covington you’ll find kitchen and dining goods like decorative trays, French presses, teapots, teal towels, and tablecloths. Other products we carry include stationery like greeting cards, stickers, calendars, journals, pens, and notebooks and baby and kid items like blankets, art supplies, and decor. Plus, we carry one-of-a-kind vintage home decor items.
The Chic Guide: What makes Maison Covington unique?
Bialczak: I’ve curated products for the store from independent artists, makers, and shops from all over the world. From Kentucky to California, Canada to Australia, and South Africa to India, you can find a piece of the world everywhere in our shop.
