Chic Spotlight: Bird + Briar Farm

This micro flower farm is brightening up your day with its small-batch specialty cut flower bouquets.

The Chic Guide: What is Bird + Briar Farm?
Tara Richards, Founder of Bird + Briar Farm: Bird + Briar Farm is a micro flower farm, specializing in thoughtfully-grown seasonal cut flowers.

The Chic Guide: What’s the inspiration behind it?
Richards: Bird + Briar started as a focused way to document and share my gardening and farming practices on social media. Appreciating the beauty of and cultivating flowers to share with the community brings me so much joy. There’s something uplifting about a bouquet of flowers in your home or office.

The Chic Guide: Who’s behind the business?
Richards: Bird + Briar is currently a one-woman show ran by me, a fourth generation grower and Cincinnati area native. After experiencing professional burnout in project management, I left the corporate world and began to grow Bird + Briar.

The Chic Guide: What can readers find when they visit the farm?
Richards: We have small-batch specialty cut flower bouquets, organic produce, and fresh eggs.

The Chic Guide: What makes Bird + Briar unique?
Richards: We utilize sustainable and regenerative growing practices and nurture our plants from seed to harvest without the use of chemical pesticides or fertilizers. We are also working on a dahlia breeding project in the hopes of bringing new varieties into the world.

The Chic Guide: Is there anything new on the horizon?
Richards: We plan to offer a you-pick dahlia event here at the farm this summer where visitors can cut and create their own bouquets.

The Chic Guide: When can readers visit Bird + Briar Farm?
Richards: We are closed to tours and visitors, but we do welcome guests for order pickups and you-pick events.

The Chic Guide: Where can readers go to learn more and follow along?
Richards: Follow us on Instagram or our website for current product offerings.
