Chic Spotlight: 16-Bit

Get a big whiff of nostalgia at this local watering hole with classic arcade games (and play for free!).

The Chic Guide: What is 16-Bit?
Colleen Maul, Marketing Coordinator for Rise Brands, Owner of 16-Bit: Redefining how a night out is best played, 16-Bit is a retro watering hole offering classic arcade games, old-school cocktails, and craft brews.

The Chic Guide: What’s the inspiration behind it?
Maul: With a name coined from the computer architecture that several of our 50+ vintage arcade games were built on, 16-Bit appeals to those looking for an alternative to the monotonous. From bar-going veterans to young, open-minded, beer-centric types, to arcade game novices and enthusiasts, the nostalgic and playful vibe is for players of all types.

The Chic Guide: Who’s behind it?
Maul: RISE Brands, launched by Troy Allen in 2013, develops immersive consumer experiences and brings them to life through unique and memorable brands.

The Chic Guide: What games do you have at 16-Bit?
Maul: Classic arcade games! Whether it’s Donkey Kong, Duck Hunt, Street Fighter, or Tapper. You drink, you play for free!

The Chic Guide: What’s on the drink menu?
Maul: We have craft beer and old school cocktails!

The Chic Guide: What makes 16-Bit unique?
Maul: All of our classic arcade games at 16-Bit are FREE! And at our sister locations, PiNS, we offer pinball, duckpin bowling, bocce ball, giant Jenga, ping pong, and more!

The Chic Guide: Where is 16-Bit located?
Maul: We’re in the heart of Over-the-Rhine, just inside our sister location, Pins Mechanical Co., at 1124 Main Street.
