Lindsey Bonadonna radiates positivity. She’s a self-proclaimed encourager, optimist, healthy habits coach, and yoga teacher that believes you can have your cake and eat it, too.
“A vibrant, wellness-filled life does mean you have to give up everything you love,” she says. “I love helping people, especially women and moms, live fuller, healthier, vibrant lives through developing a series of simple, fun-size habits, so that they can make a sustainable, meaningful impact on themselves, their loved ones, and the world for generations to come.”
Bonadonna is the founder of her own coaching business, Kale and Cake, and her pathway to positivity and health was driven by her passion for helping others.
“One of my biggest inspirations for launching my business was to help break the completely unhealthy way that our society approaches health and wellness,” she explains.
Bonadonna wants to encourage others to find health in any form, rather than focusing on what our size is or what the scale says. She also wanted to build something that would allow others to slow down and look at their health and wellness at a “whole body” approach instead of the quick fixes our modern day society is used to.
Before Bonadonna launched Kale and Cake, she spent 13 years in the local and regional craft beer industry. “As I reflect back, I realize that I am now doing the work I’ve meant to be doing my entire life and I so love when I can help support another in discovering their most fulfilling life, it really is possible to have everything you dreamed of,” she says. “I can now clearly see that all of my experiences, even the really, really yucky ones, are not things that happened to me, but things that happened for me, because without them, I wouldn’t be where I am at today and be able to have the experience to serve people the impactful way I am able to today.”
There are a number of signature coaching packages available from Bonadonna’s Kale and Cake, all of which are completely customized to each client and are at least 6 months in length. They include everything from multiple 90-minute sessions per month to customized reflections and resources to mindful yoga sessions, weekly text check-ins and client-exclusive resources.
“Despite what we are told, sustainable health and wellness does not happen in 30 or 60 days, nor is it just about a number, what we eat, or how much we exercise, it is about looking at our entire life and getting curious about what is going in on both our primary and second foods and being able to explore that together through different seasons of life,” says Bonadonna.
Bonadonna says that what makes Kale and Cake unique is that her approach takes a look at your entire life, body, mind, and soul in addition to the 13 Primary Foods you’re consuming – like relationships, career, inclusion, movement, home environment, and spirituality. The Secondary Foods Bonadonna says we consume is the actual food we ingest and digest.
“I help clients uncover imbalances in both categories because these foods make up our circle of wellness,” she says. “Most clients come to me because they don’t feel great in their bodies, they want to lose weight, or eat better, but if we only look at those things I know we cannot set the person up for a sustainable, vibrant, healthy lifestyle,” she says.
Bonadonna hosts a Happy, Healthy Half Hour on Facebook Live on the second and fourth Wednesday of every month at 7:30pm. During these live events she shares different ways to bring wellness into your life in a way that you may not have previously thought to do.
She also hosts virtual and in-person yoga at Kindred Flow, which is located above Half Day Cafe in Wyoming, on Wednesdays and Fridays. Her schedule can be found here.
“You do not have to be flexible to come to my yoga classes, it is simply an opportunity to calm the fluctuations of your mind and be with yourself,” says Bonadonna. “In fact, at the beginning of every class, I offer the option to just lay on your mat the entire time. All levels and people are welcome.
Bonadonna is looking forward to the future and connecting with others. “I am feeling pretty excited about what is unfolding around bringing women together in a meaningful way, in a space where they can show up and truly, just be with themselves and be whatever they feel,” she says. “While I offer hour-long opportunities to connect with yourself through my yoga classes, what is starting to come to fruition will be a longer experience that will be really meaningful, transformative, and so deeply needed.”
