If you’re currently unhappy with your appearance or are looking for a way to boost your self-confidence, there are many local businesses that offer a variety of beauty services.
“We like to help with the self-confidence part of that formula,” says Brandy Jones, practice administrator of Kathy Jones Aesthetics, which has locations in Oakley and Covington. “Our procedures focus on looking more youthful and radiant in a natural-looking way. We want to help our patients look like their best selves, not like someone else.”
The namesake of the business, Kathy Jones, has been in the medical aesthetics field for more than 20 years and offers many non-surgical aesthetic procedures including skincare, injectables and body sculpting. Other available services at Kathy Jones Aesthetics includes Botox, Xeomin, dermal fillers and ultherapy. Facial and body sculpting products are also available at the practice, including Kybella and CoolSculpting.
Kathy Jones Aesthetics offers a focus on skin health prevention, maintenance and correction including peels, dermaplaning, microneedling, Lamprobe, CryoPen and a variety of skincare products to address skincare concerns.
Patient education is a big deal at Kathy Jones Aesthetics. They aren’t just performing procedures on patients; they are also addressing concerns as well as expectations.
“Every patient is different according to what their concerns are, what their expectations from a procedure might be, and what kind of knowledge and understanding they might already have when they come through our doors,” says Jones. “We listen to each patient and make recommendations tailored to their needs.”
Jones says some of the up-and-coming trends in dermal fillers are procedures that help give a more prominent chin, a more defined jawline, and a smoother and tighter neck. “It’s an innovative way to get great results with dermal filler,” she adds.
Further north in Troy is The Lash Loft, a boutique salon offering high-quality services such as lash extensions, hair extensions, microblading and powder brows.
Carey Canter, the founder of The Lash Loft, says that she wants to help her clients find their inner, and outer, beauty when they walk through the door.
“I want every one of my clients to fall in love with their hair, their new lashes or their freshly done microbladed brows,” she says. “I find it fulfilling to be able to help a woman fall in love with herself for the first time, or to fall in love with a new look she was once afraid to try out.”
Canter says the trends she’s currently seeing in the beauty industry include a variety of hair extension methods. “I believe that it’s about finding the right one for you, and that being the key to having the hair that you want,” she says.
In the world of eyebrows, Canter says that she is seeing a growing popularity with brow lamination and turning the lamination into a more semi-permanent look by using microblading and machine shading.
It seems like everyone is getting lash extensions, and Canter agrees with that. When it comes to lash extensions, she says that she’s seeing trends in using colored lashes and creating different types of looks like a cat eye, a doll eye and even super glam sets.
“We love being able to create an entire look for our clients from beautiful, voluminous and trendy blonding, highlighted hair extensions to applying a full set of faux mink lashes and finishing off the look with a beautiful combo brow using microblading and machine shading,” she says. “All of this to create a new look, and a new you.”
