In the days of fast fashion and pre-fabricated products, it doesn’t always feel like the items in our everyday lives have a story. It can take some digging to find a piece that tells a story, and that’s what Jen Snyder aims to do with Boheemia, a Bohemian-inspired styling service, personal shopping, and curated online shop of boho furniture and home decor.
Based in Cincinnati, Boheemia was inspired by Snyder’s background in design, photography, and art combined with her love for all things boho and her passion for find a good vintage piece. “I wanted to combine these skills and interests to bring a unique service and shop to all those bohemies out there,” she says.
When you shop Boheemia, you’ll find a variety of items that offer a vintage Bohemian and a mid-century feel. Items include wicker and rattan baskets and furniture, Turkish and Moroccan textiles, vintage brass and colored glass, ceramics, and Bohemian women’s clothing and accessories.
“I curate special collections with hard-to-find vintages pieces a couple times a month that release on Thursday nights on my Facebook and Instagram pages,” says Snyder. “Customers have really enjoyed seeing what the next collection will bring and what unique items they can shop.”
This past year has been good to Snyder and Boheemia. She says she recently participated in a pop-up shop at Bird of Paradise in Dayton. “It was so fun to set up in a permanent location and work with other local artists and business owners,” she says. “I would love to find this same type of setup in Cincinnati, a design collective store where local style shops could have an inspiring space to sell and display their collections.”
As we wrap up 2022 and head into a new year, Snyder says she’s looking forward to being part of local markets in the coming year.
