We could all use an extra energy boost every now and again, and there’s no better way to get it than through healthy energy bar.

Cue Beeyond Bar, honey and sesame energy bars created by two sisters and their mom with a passion for health and wellness.

Angelina, Andrea, and Evi Papanikolaou found inspiration for Beeyond Bar in their Greek background.

“This simple honey and sesame mixture dates back to the Ancient Greeks,” explains Angelina. “First references in Home’s Iliad, the Greeks ate this simple honey and sesame mixture to withstand the physical demands of the war. In 700BC, honey and sesame fueled athletes during the original Olympic Games.”

Using a mixture that’s so old it’s called “The Original Energy Bar,” Beeyond Bar has a received developed by Angeline, who has a background in pastry arts and nutrition. Andrea brings experience in advertising and marketing, and is responsible for package design, branding, and marketing. Then, their mother Evi, is in charge of logistics and accounting.

There are three flavors currently offered by Beeyond Bar, including Apricot Coconut Cashew, Peanut Chocolate Sea Salt, and Vanilla Blueberry Almond.

“Beeyond Bars are the only honey and sesame energy bars on the US market,” says Angelina. “Each of our flavors is made with only 6 ingredients and are gluten/dairy/soy/preservative free.”

The ingredients in Beeyond Bars are carefully chosen.

“Sesame seeds provide long lasting energy – sesame and nuts add healthy fats, which are our bodies use for long lasting energy,” says Angelina. “When our body is running low on glucose, it turns to fats for energy. They keep us feeling full and are the most energy-filled macronutrient at a whopping 9 calories per gram.”

The nuts in the bars provide a plant-based protein source. “Protein is vital for building and repairing muscles after tough workouts,” she says. “All of the protein in our bars comes entirely from nuts – no added highly processed protein powders.”

Quick and efficient energy suppliers honey and dried fruits can be found in Beeyond Bars as well. “Dried fruits and honey provide our bodies with glucose, our body’s preferred source of energy,” says Angelina. “We are all about fueling our bodies efficiently. Honey serves are our only sweetener and is also a natural preservative.”

Also in Beeyond bars are probiotics. “Probiotices are micro-superheroes,” says Angelina. “They help fight crime in your gut, which is home to 80 percent of our immune system and 90 percent of the serotonin in our bodies – the chemical that makes us feel happy. This means that a healthy gut not only promotes a healthy body, but it also promotes a healthy mind.”

Currently, the sisters behind Beeyond Bar are working on a few new products including mini-sized bars and new flavors.
