Are you delaying your success due to procrastination? Our business and life coach shares some quick tips to shift out of delaying and into progress.

Delaying and postponing your efforts is a sure sign of procrastination.

And using the phrase “I’m a perfectionist” is also a form of procrastination.

What if you had practical steps to allow you to shift quickly out of this state of mind of procrastination and move into inspired action?

Would you want to learn?

Here are some quick tips for helping you to reframe your thoughts around procrastination.

When you find yourself delaying or postponing a project or task:

1. ACCEPT the fact you DELAY jumping into your work. You probably know this and talk about it often. Start flipping the script and say, “I know I can do my best work last minute.”

2. When you find you are frantic and can’t get things perfect, set up a plan (timer/calendar) to schedule action steps throughout the timeline for the project. It’s a form of chunking down the task, so it is more manageable. A great way to start is by creating an outline identifying simple tasks.

3. Perfectionism is another form of procrastination because it implies, “if I can’t do it perfectly, then I won’t do it.” Reframe this belief by saying, “I know it won’t be perfect, and I’m willing to trust progress over perfection.”

4. Lastly, you want to clarify why you are procrastinating in the first place. Start by asking these questions:

  • Why am I delaying?
  • How does it serve me to wait?
  • What are the feelings or emotions connected to this delay?

Once you can understand why and how it’s not serving you to procrastinate, you can take any task and break it down into sections and create that timeline that works best for you. Soon you will be moving into success.

You are already moving out of procrastination. It won’t happen overnight, but with these tips, you’ll find you’ll begin to ignite your higher self for guidance and start any task without procrastinating.
