Resilient… challenges the status quo… wears great shoes! Meet Kelly Soller, Senior Vice President, Managing Director at Fifth Third Private Bank. I have had the privilege of partnering with Kelly for the better part of 2021 to launch Of Note, a wealth network for women. Kelly has led an incredible career in banking that has culminated in her current role as a senior leader.

The key to Kelly’s success? Recognizing that by taking on the least popular, and oftentimes most necessary jobs, she could truly make a difference and stand out amongst her peers. “I certainly did not understand it at the time, but looking back this approach opened doors leading to more responsibility.  I never forget the people who spent time with me, supported me and gave me opportunities. I practice gratitude at work by being the best employee I can be and the best human being as well.”

Given Kelly’s profession, it should not come as a surprise that she excels in Should not be much of financial wellness. “Now, I have had a tremendous advantage as my career has exposed me to so much information I could not ignore. I saw clients utilizing strategies and making decisions based on the advice and solutions from my area of the bank and simply ‘copycatted’ the same in my own small accounts. Planning and patience is my key to financial comfort.” Kelly recently led the launch of Of Note, a wealth network for women powered by Fifth Third Private Bank. Her goal: to create a like-minded community, all aimed at supporting the financial success of women.

Kelly is curious and is willing to experiment with her wellness in the pursuit of self-improvement.  “I am curious and very interested about nutritional wellness.  I truly enjoy healthy food and do a bit of research on the nutritional values of food trends and preparation options.  I have recently caught my 21-year-old daughter reading labels and making good choices in her diet.  This came as a surprise after many years of talking to her about what it in foods and how to educate herself on what she eats and what it does for your body!”

Leading social change and a family doesn’t come without its challenges. “My inconsistency in physical activity creates a challenge for me” said Soller. “I bounce around from gym to gym and get bored with too much of a routine. And as I get older, the exercise in my life becomes more critical to my overall health. I struggle with a good mix of varying activities to keep me motivated.”

Kelly hasn’t met a challenge she has been afraid to face, and with her community involvement, including organizations like the American Heart Association, I feel fairly confident in her ability to find a solid, engaging workout routine in her near future.

“A Leadership Style” is a column authored by WISe Wellness Guild founder Stevi Gable Carr and powered by Crunchmaster Crackers aimed at celebrating female leaders who have advanced in their careers because they have integrated work and life through whole-self wellness.
