Beauté Box brings beauty services to downtown Dayton

The beauty industry has come a long way in the last few years in regards to diversity, but it still has a way to go. To help propel it forward is Lisa Scott, who founded Beauté Box, located at 20 W. Monument Ave. in Dayton, to help brown girls to not take no for answer, but rather, to create an answer.

The inspiration for Beauté Box comes from Scott’s own struggles. “As a woman I’m always putting myself under the magnifying glass,” she says. “I never feel pretty enough and when I was younger there were certain features that I didn’t like about myself. What Beauté Box does is create an experience where women can feel how beautiful they are and, through that feeling, they experience so much more than just the services they’re getting.”

Services available from Beauté Box include eyelash services, eyebrow services, make-up, nails, hand/foot spa and a Signature BBX “Volume” ReLash.

Scott and Beauté Box have also created a home lash extension line called Beauté Box Noir. The line was inspired after Scott’s own experience in being told no by another brand.

“I realized I was training and offering another brand’s products that would not endorse me as a brand ambassador,” she says. “This wasn’t the first time I was turned down as a brand ambassador from a company I paid to train with. As I looked over their advertising, I didn’t see anyone who looked like me. I had to create my own products, thus I created Beauté Box Noir.”
