Master of nails, balance and spreading joy, Cincinnati native Philishea Everage is the founder and owner of Barely Blush, a natural nail care company located in Cincinnati, Ohio. With Philishea’s vision and creativity, her self-built luxury nail care brand has also managed to empower women to embrace their authentic selves in its 5 years in business.

But she doesn’t stop there.

Philishea is also an integrated marketing manager at UC Health, where she is responsible for collaboration with leadership of brand agency partners for cross-channel planning and integration of all marketing efforts on behalf of the UC Health brand.

And believe it or not, Philishea doesn’t stop here either.

Philishea is also Wise Wellness Guild’s Director of Culture, a platform dedicated to advancing women through whole-self wellness by connecting wellness seekers to wellness experts, brands and resources.

As a multi-hyphenate woman, Philishea has an incredibly busy schedule (and would like to keep it this way) and has become an expert when it comes to setting boundaries.

“I have to be super intentional with what I choose to do with my free time because I juggle a lot of roles from Integrated Marketer, Director of Culture, Business Owner, Wife, Sister, Friend, etc,” Everage says. Her advice? Incorporate wellness into your life by creating boundaries and a safe space for yourself to unwind and just be. “Wellness is just being plain Jane,” Everage says, “and doing absolutely nothing.”

But admittedly so, it’s not always smooth sailing for Philishea.

“I am a busy body so I tend to put the needs of others before my own,” Everage remarks. However, she continues “I have an autoimmune disease that requires plenty of rest, dietary changes and physical exercise.” Carving out time for herself is a skill Philishea has always struggled with. “I am a work in progress,” she states with joy and gratitude.

Most remarkable about Philishea’s many career roles, health management and journey is her ability to dream big.

“I am most proud of not giving up on myself and pushing through even when I was uncertain of myself,” Everage says. “I always knew I had this super power of anticipating one’s needs and executing visions from beginning to end,” she continues.

Philishea eventually went back to school in her thirties to finish her degree in Organizational Leadership at Wilmington College, completed her nail technical certification, and started a business all while working a full time job. Philishea’s resilience in overcoming obstacles and inspiring others to do the same is why we take the time to recognize and celebrate Philishea today.

We asked Philishea to share her list of favorite wellness products and brands that keep her at her most resilient self.
