937 Salon and Spa

Enjoy self-care in a space that was created for clients from all walks of life.

When Esther Laveck and her husband Jason opened 937 Salon and Spa, they envisioned creating a space that was locally-owned, carbon-neutral, and gender-free. And they’ve done more than just that in the short amount of time they’ve been open. Since acquiring the building they’re in now in 2019, the couple has built a salon and spa that not only embodies their values, but employs 15 people and underwent an extensive renovation done by the Lavecks themselves.

“After 3 months of renovating by ourselves and tearing apart the 90s shabby/outdated interior, making it our own, brightening up, and customizing, we opened our doors in May 2019,” she says.

Services available at 937 Salon and Spa include haircutting, coloring, beaded row extensions, styling, skincare, and natural nail services. The salon carries a variety of products including R+co, Sorella Apothecary, and Cult & King products, all lines that care for the earth and also give customers results.

“I decided to open 937 as a safe place for artists to create, grow, and gain education, as well we holding to my values for cleanliness, community, education, and the planet,” says Laveck. “Education is something that is so important inner space because it’s what feeds us as artists and keeps our artists on top of their craft.”

She also wanted 937 Salon and Spa t be a comfortable place for any age, gender, and race to gather and feel at home .”We truly do see guests from every walk of life, from all over Ohio,” she says. “We also have a staff that truly loves each other like family and get feedback often from guests that it is such a unique culture we have created.”

Laveck says the salon is currently looking for a new space, as it has outgrown the current location. “We want to stay in the Dayton area because this is the most convenient for our guests, but that is something to stay tuned for,” she adds.
